Dr. Stacy O'Blenes

Dr. O’Blenes is a specialist in pediatric and adult cardiac surgery who works at both the IWK Children’s Heart Centre and the Halifax Infirmary. He completed his medical degree at Dalhousie University and his cardiac surgical training at the University of Toronto. Additional training in pediatric cardiac surgery and vascular biology research was obtained at Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children.

Dr. O’Blenes runs a research laboratory in the Tupper Medical Building at Dalhousie University. His research interests include cardiac regeneration with muscle-derived stem cells, cardiac protection during surgery, and the treatment of rhythm disturbances following heart surgery in children.
